friends

I have to say that I am one lucky woman. I have lots of friends. I am truly blessed. Today, some of my closest friends (who are all extraordinarily busy busy busy people) got together for a surprise birthday brunch for myself and my dear friend Mim. Eight people around the table - all who lead extraordinary lives in their own way, had a wonderful morning through to afternoon whiling away the time with hilarious stories and good humour. I love the fact that each of the people around the table are so very different. You couldn't put together a more eclectic group of people, yet we get along so well. I just felt it necessary to honour my friends with a blog. I will state for the record that I have photographic evidence that DJ actually owns shorts. Yes, I know... unbelievable but true. That was indeed a surprise...to everyone at the table.

So are we or arent we...?

In a recession? Experiencing the strangest weather this summer? Sick of the aggrandising of the cult of celebrity? Over reality tv? Sick of reality tv competitons? (I don't care if you can or can't dance or if you can or can't sing) Thrilled to bits that Murphy Brown has made it onto TV again! Glad that the 'Vote For Pedro' shirts have probably seen their last days? Relieved that Bindy is no longer the lead news story? 

A long break

It almost seems an eternity since I have put virtual pen to virtual paper and it will hearten you to know that I feel sufficiently shamed by my paltry attempts to commit to this blog. I did feel quite passionate about blogging almost three years ago and still do! It's that old adage...about best laid plans....

In any case, a fabulous colleague of mine has no doubt inspired me to shake off the virtual cobwebs and resume my blog. Her blog - dropped stiches is one that is truly inspiring. I certainly hope that Novus Musings will flourish into something great.
